Micro-Ring Resonator
The image, taken using a phone camera from a microscope eyepiece on our optical table, shows a red CW laser coupled in and out of a sub-micron-scale waveguide, through coupling from the laser-diced facets of the chip using tapered optical fiber. The light is coupled from the waveguide into the micro-ring adjacent to it.
