“The question occurred to me: I wonder if there is an infrared rainbow in the sky? … Anyone who has tried to photograph rainbows knows that they usually occur when a camera is not at hand and fade before one is located. I decided to first try an easier subject—that of a rainbow in a water spray that I could turn on at my convenience in my backyard.”
