Functional and Physical Properties of Polymer Nanocomposites

This book presents, through nine chapters, the functional and physical properties of polymer-based nanocomposites. Much of the material is drawn from research papers from the last two decades.

The authors have attempted to make the book as user-friendly as possible. A detailed table of contents, a uniform system of designating the subdivision of material in each chapter, and an extensive index all help readers locate topics of interest. There is a broad variety of fundamental issues, such as processing, dispersion of nanoparticles in a matrix, as well as applications like biodegradability, biosensing and gas/water barrier materials, that provide concrete illustrations of the methods developed in this book.
