Record Revenue of US$235 Million for IPG Photonics

31 July, 2015—High-power laser developer IPG Photonics (Oxford, Mass., USA) announced yesterday that the company has grown revenues 22 percent year over year for the second quarter of 2015 to a record US$235.1 million. The company achieved a gross margin of 54.7 percent for the three months ended 30 June, 2015, and announced record earnings per diluted share of US$1.15, an increase of 25 percent year over year. 

Valentin Gapontsev, chief executive officer of IPG Photonics, said the record revenue growth was due to continued market penetration of fiber lasers in materials processing. An expanded OEM customer base enabled a 21 percent increase for the quarter in materials processing sales. 

“We remain focused on establishing partnerships with new OEMs and end users,” said Gapontsev, “deepening our relationships with existing customers and developing the next generation of fiber laser-based products to address new markets and applications.”
