What is the purpose of a job in any industry? The answer is simple—to solve problems. No matter what you are hired to do—be it to conduct research, teach or create new products—that goal is the same. And to solve those problems, you must analyze and organize your resources, design a plan of attack, execute your strategy and develop and examine metrics for success.
