New Sales and Support Offices Promising for Photonics Growth

April 12, 2013—Several photonics companies have announced opening new sales offices around the world this week, a bellwether for growth in optoelectronics.

Gigaphoton (Tochigi-ken, Japan), manufacturer of light sources for EUV lithography, announced on 1 April the opening of a new branch in Singapore to promote new business opportunity.

On 4 April, fiber-optic test-and-measurement equipment company Yenista Optics (Lannion, France) expanded its international presence with the opening of its new Asia Pacific Support Center in Shanghai, China. The center will offer technical, repair and calibration services to Asia Pacific customers. The company opened a similar support center in Shanghai a month earlier.

Laser optics and crystal manufacturer Lasertec (Raanana, Israel) announced on 7 April the opening of a new sales office in Everett, Massachusetts (U.S.A.) to improve customer service and enlarge its presence in the optics market.

In addition, on 8 April, optical component manufacturer Gooch & Housego PLC (Ilminster, England) announced the establishment of Gooch & Housego Japan KK. The new sales office in Nagoya, Japan, is managed by Masashi Wada, who has over 10 years of experience in optics. The new Japanese office is expected to grow new business, and will offer enhanced support to existing distribution partners in Japan.
