Nanoscale Energy Transport

This book is dedicated to energy transport at nanoscale—more precisely to the recent theoretical developments in the field and emerging applications—and is written by experts in the field. The subject of the book is timely, since energy transport in quantum systems has lately become a global issue.

The book consists of two parts. The first one is dedicated to the theoretical basis and state-of-the-art computational methods. Phonon transport at the nanoscale is studied in different contexts and using different approaches. The second part is focused on experimental techniques of measuring various thermal parameters at atomic scale using methods such as MOKE, photoemission electron microscopy or inelastic neutron scattering, and involving suspended micro-devices. Also included in the second part of the book are applications of nanoscale energy transport in condensation heat transfer, thermoelectricity, thermophotovoltaics or thermionic energy conversion.

The book is beautifully illustrated and clearly written and could be read by anyone working in the area of nanotechnology.
