Fundamentals of Fluorescence Imaging

This book is a nice introduction in the field of fluorescence and its applications in biology. The book is intended for graduate students; it is clearly written by experts in the field and is beautifully illustrated with various pictures in color.

The first two chapters are an introduction into fluorescence optics. Chapters 3, 4, 8 and 10 to 12 deal with fluorescence imaging and applications in biology. New methods of imaging, subwavelength imaging, and associated techniques such as nanoscopy are the subject of the last three chapters of the book.

This book deserves to be read by all readers interested in optics and its applications in biology.
