Vortex Laser Beams

“Vortex Laser Beams” provides detailed theoretical discussion on coherent light fields with singularities. This highly mathematical book gives analytical solutions of Maxwell’s equation and Helmholtz equation for light beams that carry orbital angular momentum, which are usually called vortex or singular beams. The book represents theoretical results of research that authors have conducted for several years.

In recent years, modern optical laboratories have been able relatively easily to produce vortex laser beams. These beams can be used in wireless optical communications, fiber optic communications, quantum information, micromanipulations and astronomy. The authors give special emphases and detailed discussion of the problem of sustainable wireless communication through turbulent atmosphere.
