This book is dedicated to the fascinating subject of the light actuation and control of small-sized objects.

The book is divided into nine chapters and written in an accessible manner by two experts in the field. The first three chapters are introductory chapters dealing with micromechanical systems (MEMS), microfluidics and light-matter interactions. Manipulating MEMS with light beams and materials that are responsive to light are the subjects of the next two chapters. Chapters 6 and 7 are dedicated to actuators driven by light and their physical principles, while Chapter 8 is dedicated to light-driven microfluidics systems. The last chapter presents the perspectives of this new field of research.

The book is beneficial to all researchers in the area of optics, since the subject of the book is developing very fast due to advanced micro- and nanotechnologies.
