This book, which is published in excellent graphical condition, deals with the major achievements of micro- and nanophotonics in recent years. The first part of the book, encompassing the first ten chapters, is dedicated to the main applications of micro- and nanophonics, such as photonic crystals, plasmonics, entangled photons, single-photon generation, and parity-time symmetry-based optical devices. The next thirteen chapters, representing the second part of the book, are dedicated to breakthrough applications. Here, issues related to metamaterials, metasurfaces, optical communications, solar energy harvesting, sensors, and tomography are described in detail. This is a book written by experts in a clear and accessible language and deserves to be read by anybody working in the area of optics.
