Inorganic Glasses for Photonics

This book focuses on glass science and the structures of inorganic glasses used in photonic devices. In addition, the spectroscopic properties of rare-earth and transition-metal ion dopants, quantum dots and nanostructures are considered for applications in optical-device engineering. The target audience for this text is graduate students and researchers in functionalizing properties for photonic applications. Anyone concerned with the structure-property relationship of materials, however, will profit from reading this book.
