Computational Liquid Crystal Photonics

This book considers modeling techniques (full-vectorial finite-difference, full-vectorial beam propagation, and finite-difference time domain methods) and the simulation of a wide range of liquid-crystal photonic devices for the purpose of flexible integration and power processing applications for telecommunications. It requires only foundational knowledge of mathematics and physics. There is a broad variety of optical applications that provide concrete illustrations of the methods developed in its 13 chapters. The primary audience for this text is undergraduate classes in quantum optics, though anyone concerned with liquid-crystal photonics will profit from reading it.
