Ceramic Lasers

This book is an excellent introduction to the science and technology of ceramic lasers. The first few chapters cover solid state lasers and experimental techniques for producing optical grade ceramics. A full chapter is devoted to optical scattering processes in polycrystalline materials. There are numerous SEM and TEM images and extensive figures on all aspects of ceramics. The authors also discuss the current and future status of global research on ceramic lasers. This book is deeply insightful and authored by some of the pioneers in the area. I am sure that it will become a standard reference in the field.
