Nanomaterials in Drug Delivery, Imaging and Tissue Engineering

This book focuses on nanomaterials used in nanomedicine, including applications such as drug delivery, imaging techniques and tissue engineering. It is divided in four parts. The first part is introductory, and is dedicated to biomedical nanomaterials, while the second part deals with more advanced medicine, particularly drug delivery. The third section concentrates on the integration of therapeutic and diagnostic agents (nanotheragnostics), which is mainly based on the nanoparticles at the core of this book. Cancer imaging and therapy and advanced drug delivery systems are the key issues in this area. The remainder of the book deals with tissue regeneration and tissue engineering. The volume was written by many scientists working in the new area of nanotechnology. Each chapter has an extensive reference list and there is a short index at the end.
