Optical Materials and Applications is intended for researchers in the field of optics. All necessary mathematical theories are presented in a concise way. The book provides a good balance of mathematical theories, experimental results and the application of typical optical materials in various subfields of optics. For example, the authors discuss ultraviolet, visible and infrared optics, nonlinear optics, solid state lasers, optical thin films and nanophotonics.

At the end of each of the seven chapters there are substantial references. There is also a large and helpful index, which is very important for a book of this type.
