Nematicons: Spatial Optical Solitons in Nematic Liquid Crystals

Authoritative authors in the field of spatial solitons in nematic crystals (nematicons) present their latest theoretical and experimental results in this book. It has 16 chapters, each ending with a list of references. The volume opens with an in-depth introduction of nematicons. This is followed by chapters on the control, dynamics and interactions of nematicons, respectively, and propagation in various devices or media. The book ends with a discussion of advanced issues such as self-routing, chiral nematicons, light bullets, vortices and shock waves. The target audience includes researchers and postdocs in the field of solitons in liquid crystals.
