1989 [OSA / 1989 Annual Meeting]

“As evidenced by the substantial increase in the number and quality of papers to be presented at the 1989 OSA Annual Meeting, the field of optics is very healthy and appears likely to remain so. Nearly 1,000 … presentations will be made in 48 symposia and numerous other regular sessions [and] 23 short courses are scheduled. These contributions enable the conference to cover the many aspects of optics represented by the interests of the Society’s five technical divisions: Optical Sciences, Optical Technology, Photonics, Quantum Electronics, and Vision and Medical Optics.”
