Congratulations to OSA member Urbasi Sinha, an associate professor at the Raman Research Institute in Bengaluru, India, and a leader in the field of quantum optics, who received the 2018 Gallieno Denardo Award of the International Commission for Optics (ICO)/International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP). The award recognizes the work of young researchers from developing countries who are active in optics and photonics research and have contributed to the promotion of research activities in in their own or another developing country. Sinha received the award at the 13 February 2018 meeting of the Trieste System on Optical Sciences and Applications in Trieste, Italy.
