Michael M. Mielke is chief scientist at Raydiance, where he previously served as a research scientist, director of research and development, and vice president of engineering. He joined Raydiance in its infancy and helped to lead the company from the incubator stage to a market leader in ultrafast lasers. Mielke earned his B.S. in physics from the University of Florida and an M.S. and Ph.D. in optics from CREOL—the College of Optics & Photonics—at the University of Central Florida, in Orlando, Fla., U.S.A.
