A trio of OSA past presidents discussed their career experiences at the Frontiers in Optics conference.

One spent years juggling postdoctoral fellowships and “soft money” before becoming a tenured professor. Another became involved in OSA by asking what she could do. A third was asked at his first committee meeting to fetch some coffee for the other attendees.
