European Microscopy Market to Reach US$1.8B by 2020

29 May 2015—According to a new report released this month by market research firm Research and Markets (Dublin, Ireland), the European microscopy market is set to grow from US$1.29 million in 2015 to a record US$1.80 million by 2020, a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of seven percent. The report analyzes the microscopy market by product segment, application, region and type of end user.

The report finds that the product with the biggest share of the market is optical microscopy, while the electron (transmission) microscope is forecast to grow at the highest rate over the next 15 years.  The report predicts that nanotechnology will be the source of new revenue, alongside more established applications like semiconductors, life science and material science.

Favorable government funding will help the market, while high cost will continue to be its biggest challenge.
