Tiny Craters

Tiny Craters

Dark-field microscope image of micrometer-size craters in a thin polymer film on a silicon substrate, created during a laser-induced transfer experiment. The imaging setting helps in identifying irregularities in crater symmetry. The laser technique is used for printing optical materials.  [Image taken from the 2016 After Image photo contest]
