Blue ink over glass thumbnail
Blue ink over glass

A drop of blue ink spills over glass, seen through a microlens array. Each microlens captures its perspective of the event. Information on the spread and origin of light can be recovered. The microlenses, 145um in diameter, are small enough to act as gratings to the light, exhibiting diffraction patterns. Taken with a Motic 1000 CMOS camera 1.3Mpx working on a microscope with a 10x 0.3 Leica air objective. The image was not processed. Captured at Biophysics Lab., Los Andes University, Colombia
