Cell Phone Chip
Chip removed from an old cell phone. Image acquired using epi-brightfield (tungsten-halogen bulb) at approximately 10X magnification. Colors are due to various optical effects, including interference from interior thin dielectic layers and surface plasmon resonance from interior thin metal layers. Setup included a Zeiss 16-mm Luminar objective on a Zeiss microscope stand and a Sony a850 camera body.
