Optomechanical Systems Engineering

books-img09_03_15.jpgKasunic’s book makes an important contribution to the growing monograph literature on optomechanical engineering and design. The author places emphasis on optical engineering and alignment issues of optical components, such as lenses and mirrors that are typically found in an optical system. The book also contains discussions of the thermal management principles and vibrational issues that are crucial to optical system design. The whole book is written in a very accessible style, and there are plenty of good exercises for the reader. It would be a good resource for engineers and research students entering the field.
