Handbook of Molecular Plasmonics

There have been a number of publications on plasmonics in the last few years. So what can another one tell us? This handbook provides a crystal-clear account of the subject area, in particular the growing area of molecular plasmonics, which deals with the nanoscale coupling between the emitting molecules and metallic nanostructures. The first part of the text deals with the theoretical and computational approach to plasmonics, including various methods, problems of interest and examples. The remainder of the book focuses on applications and experimental issues, such as surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). The book is written by various specialists and therefore lacks some coherence, especially in the second half. However, overall the topics are clearly presented. I would recommend this handbook for a broad audience. It would be a valuable asset to any library.
