Handbook of Silicon Photonics

Taking advantage of the high index of refraction contrast and of the cross-fertilization offered by CMOS technology, silicon photonics is headed for a top position in large-scale integration of photonics technology. This handbook offers a carefully chosen collection of contributions from about 100 experts in academia and industry. Topics include basic theory, material aspects, development of building blocks and major applications. Topic coverage is generally exhaustive. This could be used as a textbook, as many examples are found throughout the chapters. This comprehensive book will also make a very useful reference for researchers and engineers involved in photonic device integration.
