The vast development of eye tracking technology in recent years has created a growing interest in monitoring and measuring eye movements. We make 3-5 eye movements per second, so designing an eye-tracking experiment and analyzing the data are challenging. This book is a comprehensive handbook of eye tracking methodology. The book is divided in three parts. Part I introduces the eye-tracker hardware, the experimental design and recording of data from participants. Part II explains the methods for constructing and calculating events and representations from the recorded data. Part III discusses and evaluates 120 measures available to eye-tracking researchers from literature, sorted by type of movement of the eyes and type of analysis.
A list of around 1,000 bibliographical references and an index are included at the end of the book. Readers will find the field versatile, and it is easy and fun to construct new measures. This book is a great resource for anyone considering conducting scientific research involving eye-tracking.
