Optical Technology is a unique book that covers practical steps in optical manufacturing. It includes information on the selection of optical materials and optical coatings, and detailed descriptions of various manufacturing processes. It contains more than 300 full-color pictures and two hours of video material that can be downloaded from the book’s website. The book is intended for anyone who would like to learn more about manufacturing processes in optics. It is easy to read and has few mathematical formulas. The first chapters serve as a general introduction to classical optics. However, it would also be of special interest for optical designers. The book describes various methods in manufacturing and assembly of optical systems, and would therefore help designers to create better optical systems.
