Physclips: Opening a New Window into Optics Education

Physclips is a free online resource that adds another dimension to learning and teaching optics at the undergraduate level.

Bridging the gap between physical intuition and quantitative expression can be the most challenging part of mastering physics. The new vocabulary, unfamiliar experimental contraptions and mathematical gymnastics work together to obscure the elegance and simplicity that underlie physics. Optics is one of those subjects that, when presented formally, can leave students frustrated. However, laboratory demonstrations can help students visualize and better understand optics concepts and theories.
