OPN covers

As usual, I enjoyed your profile of Arthur Francis Turner (OPN, January 2012). I’d like to provide another connection: Soon after Bausch + Lomb hired me in 1960, I met C. Frank Mooney—a member of Turner’s lab. Mooney helped squire this grease monkey into the optics community after I led the group that developed an advanced automatic record-changing phonograph. Remember vinyl LPs? Frank also tutored me in a few graduate courses at the Institute of Optics.
