Each year, OSA jointly sponsors two Congressional Fellows—one in conjunction with the Materials Research Society (MRS) and the other with the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE). Gavi Begtrup is the 2010 OSA/MRS Fellow; he works in the office of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.). Matt McMahon, the OSA/SPIE Arthur H.
