In a world dependent on communications, Hideo Miyahara realized early in his career that staying ahead of society's demands using collaborative research would be crucial for advancing this technology. Today, as the current president of the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) in Japan, Miyahara is working tirelessly to ensure that innovations such as new generation networks (NWGN) are developed to handle the massive capacity that transmission network technologies require.
