The Quest for Women Scientists

The National Science Foundation, the National Academies of Sciences and other U.S. organizations are looking for a few good women—well, more than a few—to pursue careers in the sciences.

 

imagePurdue University President France Cordova is the principal investigator of a project aimed at increasing the number of women faculty in STEM disciplines.

Women’s participation in U.S. science has increased steadily—and in some cases dramatically—over the past four decades, but women remain less likely than men to hold science jobs, especially at higher levels.
